Glenlivet is an estate within the Cairngorms national park and famous for its fabulous nature and outdoor activities. We highlight a few but please visit the special Cairngorms website for more inspiration!
The Glenlivet Distillery is open for shopping and tastings, pre booking required. From Dufftown it’s a 20 minute drive. Take the B9009 towards Tomintoul, turn right onto the B9008 at Auchbreck. Be sure to make a quick stop at the old Packhorse bridge on the left of the road, just after Glenlivet Community Hall. Turn left a mile after the bridge onto the B9136 to the distillery (signposted).
Before or after your visit to the distillery leave your car in the car park and enjoy the George Smith Smugglers Trail, a nice circular walk of app. 6 km including the Drumin circular path that will take you through woods, fields and the Drumin Castle (ruin).
Alternatively you can enjoy a mountain bike ride on the Glenlivet Estate. Several trails available from family friendly to experienced. Check here facilities & bike hire. Afterwards enjoy something to eat or drink at the Glenlivet Bike Trails Café.
If you have time left, go back to the B9008, turn left and continue to the A95 which brings you to Aberlour and Craigellachie for shops, food and further sightseeing. In Craigellachie take the A941 back to Dufftown.
