Spend the day in the neighbouring village Aberlour (15 minute drive from Dufftown or use bus 36 to Elgin, bus stop at the clock tower). A day filled with walking and Scottish food & drinks! Next to the Alice Littler Memorial Park is a spacious car park where you can park for the day for free. Just outside Aberlour you’ll find Glenallachie distillery. They offer a range of tours and tastings and have a state-of-the-art whisky bar. The shop sells all Glenallachie whiskies and bottles that are exclusively sold at the distillery, including the opportunity to hand-fill your own bottle straight from the cask. Open 7 days a week from 11am-5pm. Closed on Sunday in the winter. Linn falls: beautiful circular walk through Aberlour, woods and of course the Linn waterfall (3 km/1.75 miles) Penny Bridge Circular (3 km/1.75 miles) : from the car park walk to the riverside and cross the Penny Bridge (also known as Victoria bridge). Walk up the track and take the first right. Turn left at all the following choices until back at the Penny Bridge. Enjoy the amazing views on fields, Aberlour and the river Spey. Playground for kids at the Alice Littler Memorial Park with great picnic opportunities at the riverside. Local shops as Coop supermarket, The Gather’n or the Spey Larder (Scottish delicatessen) offer everything you need for a picnic.


Treat yourself to some nice souvenirs from the following shops in the High Street: Walkers shortbread shop The Spey Larder The Speyside Whisky shop The Gallery (lots of high quality souvenirs!) Aberlour Distillery (shop and tastings, no tours at the moment) Finish the day with a drink or meal in the Mash Tun in Aberlour, a beautiful historic building on the banks of the river Spey. The restaurant offers fine dining, a whisky bar and a cigar lounge. [
